JAMMU, Jan 29: In the Grass root level initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department to promote the young minds for innovation and sustainable enterprises and Start-ups, Govt. Degree College Udhampur in collaboration with coordination cell JKHED and Gujarat Grassroots Innovation Augmentation Network (GIAN)J&K Chapter, organized a one day workshop-cum-awareness camp.
Talat Parvez Rohella, Commissioner/ Secretary Higher Education was the chief guest, whereas Sanjeev Rana , Additional Secretary Higher Education and Prof. M.Y Peerzada, Director Colleges, were the guests of honour.
The chief guest in his message apprised all about the vision and mission of JKHED for the need of the hour initiative for Talent search in the entire Union Territory and in collaboration with GIAN provide a support Mechanism through the newly established Innovation, Incubation and Training Cells for outreach to the young, potential minds in the colleges and community. He was of the view that today is the time to bring all stakeholders on one platform to bring academic and social excellence and for that the continual search of the talent and trainingfor Start ups is prime objective of the Department.
Rana threw light on the financial and technical modalities vis-a-vis supporting grant to the Innovation and Incubation Cells for Corporate Training and Initial support to the Innovators.
Director colleges conveyed his best wishes to the college for the establishment of the IIT cell and ensured every possible help from his side.
Principal of the College, Prof. Subhash Chander Sharma informed all present about the Initiatives and breakthrough achievements made by the college till date and also about the initiatives to be taken for the future course.
