1/29/2021 11:15:01 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 29: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray's Jammu and Kashmir unit has demanded Covid-19 vaccination on priority basis for students and teachers in the union territory, as the administration gears up for reopening of all schools from February 1.
While addressing the media at party office today , Manish Sahni , state president , appealed to Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to give Corona vaccination to the students and teachers before opening the schools.
He said that this would not only ensure the protection from the deadly virus, but would also reassure the parents who are still apprehensive about sending their kids to the schools.
Sahni said that the administration should reconsider the decision to open the school before the covid-19 vaccination. He said that many parents, while contacting them, expressed concern over the rescue of their child from Corona.
They said that precaution such as putting a mask and maintaining a distance of two yards seems almost impossible in school. The government should strengthen the safety of students from this epidemic before deciding to open schools.
Sahni said that he has made a written appeal to the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha to give time on the matter, he is hopeful that the Lt. Governor will act immediately and give relief to the legitimate concern of the parents.
On this occasion Meenakshi Chibber president Mahila wing, Rakesh Gupta chairman, Vikas Bakshi & G I Singh gen. secretary, Ashwani Gupta working president, Sanjeev Kohli & Romesh Gupta vice president, Raj Singh, Balwant Singh secretary, Geeta Lakhotra, Dimple, Neelam Samyal, Arun Kumar were present.
