COVID-19 positive cases in JK reach 125052 following 45 new cases, one fresh death

SRINAGAR, Feb 10: As 45 new cases of COVID-19 were reported today in Jammu & Kashmir the total positive cases in the union territory reached 1, 25,052. Following one fresh death in Kashmir the death toll due to the virus reached 1,945.
Srinagar district reported 23 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district five cases, Budgam district four cases, Ganderbal district three cases, Baramulla and Anantnag districts two cases each and Pulwama, Kupwara, Bandipora, Kulgam, Shopian & Doda districts one case each. No case was reported from Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi districts. Baramulla district reported the fresh virus related death.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 45 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), six from Jammu division and 39 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 25,052. Also one COVID-19 death has been reported from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 32 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including two from Jammu division and 27 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 25,052 positive cases, 605 are active positive, 1, 22,502 have recovered and 1,945 have died; 722 in Jammu division and 1,223 in Kashmir division.
Out of 47, 52,735 test results available, 46, 27,683 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 11, 91,190 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 34,278 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 605 in isolation and 1, 05,202 in home surveillance. Besides, 10, 49,160 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,419 positive cases, 215 active positive, 25,746 recovered, 458 deaths; Baramulla has 8,136 positive cases, 16 active positive, 7,945 recovered, 175 deaths; Budgam has 7,808 positive cases, 42 active positive, 7,648 recovered, 118 deaths; Pulwama has 5,767 positive cases, 49 active positive, 5,630 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,667 positive cases, eight active positive, 5,563 recovered, 96 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,943 positive cases, 50 active positive, 4,807 recovered, 86 deaths; Bandipora has 4,700 positive cases, 18 active positive, 4,621 recovered, 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,650 positive cases, 56 active positive, 4,547 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,703 positive cases, 17 active positive, 2,632 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,579 positive cases, 15 active positive, 2,524 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,042 positive cases, 54 active positive, 24,617 recovered, 371 deaths; Udhampur has 4,226 positive cases, 23 active positive, 4,146 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,870 positive cases, two active positive, 3,813 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,435 positive cases, five active positive, 3,366 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,256 positive cases, three active positive, 3200 recovered, 53 deaths.
“Samba has 2,832 positive cases, seven active positive, 2,785 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,732 positive cases, one active positive, 2,709 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,507 positive cases, 16 active positive, 2,467 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, two active positive, 2,112 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,645 positive cases, six active positive, 1,624 recovered, 15 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 25,052 positive cases in J&K, 11,827 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
