Justice eludes to lakhs of OBCs in J&K even after abrogation of Art 370

early times report
jammu, Feb 10: Justice eludes lakhs of people belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBCs) who have been running from pillar to post for their rights since 1991 after the implementation of Mandal Commission report in other parts of the country demanding benefit of 27 percent reservations for them in Government jobs and admission in professional colleges.
Though the Mandal Commission report was implemented all over the country 30 years back but J&K taking undue advantage of Special Constitutional position has refused to implement in the erstwhile State instead it created another class of people under the name rural backward area and granted reservation to them.
Though the decision was challenged by members of IBC community and their organisations took up the issue with successive governments from time to time forcing the community to come to streets for justice.
Sources said though many wrongs were set right in J&K after the abrogation of controversial Article 370 and 35 A in 2019 including grant of citizenship rights to West Pak refugees and Valmiki Samaj but these hapless people were still deprived of their rights and abrogation of Article 370 made no difference for them despite the fact the community had been demanding it's abrogation for decades after turning it a great barrier in granting reservations benefits to the community as per the Indian Constitution.
Though the community took up the issue with Union Government by making several representations to it as well as Governor and LG's administration they too failed give justice to this hapless community during last two years despite the fact the law is clear and open in this regard.
Demanding justice different bodies of the OBC while taking the issue with Government wanted to know when J&K is part and parcel of India and when the 27 per cent reservation is given all over country why J&K has been deprived of it till date.
