5 months on, Ayushman Bharat Golden cards yet be issued to KP migrants
Delay in issuance of cards brews resentment among needy
2/13/2021 11:57:05 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Feb 13: Despite completion of all document formalities regarding Ayushman Bharat Golden cards, the Kashmiri Pandit migrants have alleged that they have not been issued the cards even after the lapse of the five months due to which the needy people have been facing huge hardships to get free medical treatment.
Due to undue delay on the part of the concerned agency, the resentment among Kashmiri migrants has been brewing over non issuance of Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards to them.
The activists of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee and people of adjoining areas Roop Nagar, Laxipuram Chinore, Swaran Vihar, Dogra Nagar and adjoining localities under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina expressed their grave concern for non-issuance of Ayushman cards despite completion of all formalities a long time back last year.
The migrants showed their anger against the concerned departments for delaying the issuance of Ayushman cards and said that many people who have been suffering from chronic diseases having no source of income are unable to get themselves treated in the hospitals due to shortage of money. RL Raina termed the Ayushman Bharat an eyewash for migrants who have till date been deprived of its benefits.
He said all the formalities including payments were made by every cardholder besides giving their Aadar card, voter ID and ration card to the concerned officials for Ayushman card but it is surprising that after a lapse of about five months the cards were not issued.
The delaying tactic has created doubtful intentions of the Government.
They alleged that first the Kashmiri migrants were not brought under the purview of the scheme framed by the Prime Minister of India and after the community raised a hue and cry and the process was started to register the migrants.
When Early Times contacted the Mission Director NHM Choudhary Mohd Yasin, he said that those who are not getting their Ayushman Bharat Golden cards, they will have to contact the concerned operator of CSC, who had registered their information. “They can also register their grievance through helpline number 1800-233-505554,” he added.
