New Delhi ‘upset’ with security arrangement for those facing threat

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 13: New Delhi is allegedly “upset” with the security arrangements in place for those facing “threat perception” in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said Bharatiya Janta Party government at the centre has received some shocking complaints that even the elected leaders from its own party are being denied “proper security” in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said a delegation of senior leaders from J&K had approached the Union government with a complaint that the JK government was allegedly “non serious” towards providing security to individuals, including elected representatives, who “face a threat to life.”
Sources said the BJP informed the Union Home Ministry that “babu giri” was responsible for denial of proper security.
With this being the complaints of leaders from the ruling party, the plight of others can only be imagined. The BJP’s complaint has come at a time when the government is already facing criticism for having failed to provide security to noted human rights activist and lawyer, Syed Babar Qadri who was killed by terrorists a day after he complained on public platform about threat to his life. Babar was shot dead by terrorists outside his residence in autumn of last year.
Sources in the establishment said there was “lack of coordination between the civil and police administration” over the issue of security review due to which those having threat to life “may be feeling aggrieved.”
“The officials from the security establishment who are actually experts on the subject believe that that some officials from the civil administration are unduly trying interfering in issues which are not supposed to be their domain,” said a source.
Source said the BJP leaders in Kashmir have already been protesting against such lack of alleged coordination and want the system to be even robust in providing security to the people.
Sources said the Raj Bhawan would soon resolve the issue of security review about the issue of providing adequate security to those facing threat to life.
