| Sites identified for Construction of New Community/Individual Border Bunkers | | |

Baramulla, Feb 16: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Mohammad Aijaz Asad accompanied by SSP Baramulla Abdul Quyoom and other field officers today visited several border/LoC habitations of Uri where he took stock of developmental and infrastructural scenario along the line of control.
At the outset, the DC inspected the under construction community bunkers at Silikote panchayat halqa wherein he directed Xen PWD to ramp up the pace of work so that they are completed as early as possible. He also took the first hand appraisal of various related necessities during which the DC emphasized to remove all bottlenecks, if any well within a time bound manner. It was informed that 44 bunkers have been alloted for Uri in which several bunkers have been completed whereas work on others are at different stages of completion.
During his tour of Border habitations various public delegations put their demand for construction of Border bunkers in Panchayats near zero line. SDM Uri made an on spot briefing at identified sites for construction of more Border bunkers. Deputy commissioner finalised the sites and told that the list of same shall be submitted to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir upon whose instructions the sites have been surveyed.
Meanwhile, various delegations called on DC and appraised him of their issues and grievances pertaining to overall welfare and development of border areaThe DC gave a patient hearing of all the issues and demands and assured that their genuine grievances shall be taken for their immediate redressel. He said that administration is committed to develop basic infrastructure in border areas so that the people living in these areas may not face any difficulty in their daily lives. |
