Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 17: Stunned over resignation of Peerzada Mansoor Hussain from the primary membership of the party, PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti is now suspecting all her close-aides because Mansoor was his close-confident.
Wishing anonymity, a senior PDP leader told The Early Times that Mehbooba Mufti had decided to give an important position to Mansoor Hussain in the party after her own ‘election’ as president of the party. “After resignation of Mansoor from the party, Mehbooba Mufti has lost all faith on her close-aides who are solely responsible for creating differences between Mehbooba Mufti and those who were loyalists to late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed”, sources said and added, “one the one hand Mansoor was pretending to be well-wisher of Mehbooba Mufti while on the other
Ex-MP, former minister annoyed with Mehbooba

Conspicuous absence of two senior leaders including former Rajya Sabha member Mir Fayaz Ahmed and ex-minister Abdul Haq Khan during the function of Mehbooba Mufti at Kupwara on Tuesday substantiated rumours that both of them were annoyed with the party president. Khan and Mir -who both belong to Kupwara district preferred to stay away despite knowing about the convention taking place in their home district. Both the leaders were actually told about the convention but it was not known why they were not present.
hand he was in touch other groups also”.
Highly placed sources said that during his detention after August 5, 2019, Mansoor had reportedly opened a channel of communications with ‘other groups’.
In the month of June, 2020, Mansoor was released from the detention and his PSA was revoked along with bureaucrat turned politician Shah Faesal. Many eye-brows were raised when Mansoor’s PSA was revoked because he was hardcore PDP leader. Revocation of his PSA was an indication that the PDP leader had opened back-channel diplomacy with the Centre to avoid confrontation.
Although in the month of December, 2020, Mansoor was again detained by central agencies for questioning along with Sartaz Madni- maternal uncle of PDP president, Mansoor was released silently which added fuel to the rumours that he has struck some deal.
