Dir Skill Development kick starts plantation cum sanitation drive

JAMMU Mar 19: Government Polytechnic College Jammu today organised a Plantation-cum - Sanitation Drive inside the institute. The drive was kick started by Director Skill Development, Sajad Hussain Ganai, in presence of Joint Director( Polytechnics), Skill Development Department, Er Mohammad Shafi Bhat, Principal of college, Er Arun Bangota along with all HODs, Faculty, Sports Incharge and students of the college.
The Director Skill Development appreciated the initiative taken by the college to make institute Green and clean.
While addressing the staff and students, he made them aware about how nature when protected and lived in harmony can lead to sustainable human development. He further added that Tree plantation is a harbinger of prosperity. Plants eliminate the pollution and are beneficial for the health. Over 200 plants were planted on the college campus by the staff and students. Principal Govt. Polytechnic Jammu, Er. Arun Bangotra, in his vote of thanks said that the college will continue to organize such events for protecting the Environment under Swachh Bharat Mission.
The student also expressed their views on importance of plantation, effect of green gold in the life and importance of cleanliness. The Heads of various departments along with the faculty members and students zestfully participated in the Plantation Drive.
Different locations within the college campus were identified and plantation of various saplings was done. Meanwhile, the staff and students took pledge to create awareness about conservation of nature by plantation of tress and making campus neat and clean. The drive was conducted under the supervision of Er. Sukhdeep Singh, HOD Civil, Er. Inderjeet Singh, W/Supdt; Tariq Amin, HOD T&T; Er K.S Bhatia, HOD Mechanical; Er Sanjay Gupta, HOD Electrical; Er Rajesh Gupta, HOD Automobile Engg; Er. Zia Ul Haq, HOD Computer; Er Rajeev Kohli, HOD, I&C; Ar. Ritika Wadhera, HOD, Arch; Rajesh Khajuria, TPO; Guminderpreet Kour and Toshi Devi PEMs.
