Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 19: After massive outrage among the people of Marwah Sub Division over the non functioning of government offices at Sub Division including Office of the Block Development Officer Marwah, Sub Divisional Magistrate Marwah had ask the BDO Marwah to make the office functional at Block Headquarter.
As per the details available with Early Times, SDM Marwah Dr. Mohsin Raza vide letter No. SDM/M/GEN/2251-54 had ask BDO Marwah repeatedly to make the office functional at block headquarter.
“Whereas the issue of non functioning of Block Development Office Marwah at block headquarter has repeatedly been raised by PRIs and general public during public meetings/block Diwas. Whereas time and again this office has asked your office to get Panchayat VSATs installed and also block level VSAT installed in BDO office Marwah” read SDM letter addressed to BDO Marwah.
The letter further pointed out that one BBNL VSAT and 5 KVA Solar power plant is lying in unused condition in BDO office and same can be an asset for providing uninterrupted power supply to whole of the BDO office and installed VSAT.
“You are as such once again asked to take immediate steps for installation of solar power plant and VSAT in your office so that the requirement of visiting district headquarter for internet needs is done away with, and the complaint of the general public is addressed and no staff is required to move towards district headquarter unless required otherwise” read the letter.
It is pertinent to mention that majority of the offices in Marwah sub division are functioning from District Headquarter Kishtwar in violation of all the rules and regulations and successive administrations and the governments fail to make these offices functional from Marwah headquarter.
Now it is to be seen if incumbent District Administration and the SDM Marwah will make these offices to shift from Kishtwar headquarter to Marwah sub Division headquarter much to the satisfaction of the general masses who are fighting hard since decades over this issue.
