GDC Nowshera hosts symposium, poster making competition

RAJOURI Mar 19: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of GDC Nowshera today organized Intra College symposium and poster making competition to celebrate the World Water Day.
The theme of the symposium was “valuing of Water”. The programme was held under the guidance and supervision of Principal, Dr. Surinder Kumar Sharma.
Addressing the Students, the Principal highlighted the importance of water in day today life and the need to conserve it by various methods like rain water harvesting and so on.
A large number of students participated in the symposium and painting competition. Participants of the symposium expressed their concern over the scarcity of water and mentioned different ways of conservation of water. Assistant Professor, Joginder Singh Co-coordinator IQAC GDC Nowshera, appreciated the efforts of participants and also highlighted the importance of water.
At the end, prize distribution ceremony was held. Top three participants in symposium as well as in painting competition were awarded with mementos. In the symposium competition, Esha Sharma (BSc. Sem-III) stood first, Inderpal Kour (BA Sem-V) secured second position and Shriya Gupta (BA Sem-III) was awarded third prize. In the painting competition, Diskha Sharma (BSc. Sem-I) stood first, Sanjana Sharma (BA Sem-I) secured second position and Ramneek Kour (BA Sem-V) secured third position. The event was judged by Rakesh Verma, Lecturer education, Manisha Kanchru, Lecturer EVS and Saleem Ahmed Yattoo, lecturer EVS.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Shreya Gumble, a student of BA Sem-III.
Vote of thanks was presented by Assistant Professor, Rajat Bhardwaj.
