Jammu police arrests gang of thieves, recover telecom batteries worth Rs 18 lakh

Jammu, Mar 19: In a major breakthrough, Jammu Police busted a gang of burglars who were stealing mobile tower batteries across Jammu and Samba districts from last four years and had given slip to police many times.
RS Pura Police constituted different special teams led by SHO MiranSahib Aijaz Wani, SHO Bishnah Anil Chowdhary and SHO RS Pura Jai Pal Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan.
Special Police teams after generating a specific input at Miran Sahib laid a special nakka at Kotli Mian Fateh and took into custody one Bilal Ahmed Wani R/O Baglee Gandoh Doda at present Beli Charana Jammu. On questioning Bilal revealed the names of four more associates namely Mohammad Irfan R/O Chinot Badherwah Doda at present Belicharana Jammu, Mohammad Saleem Rather R/O Chinot Badherwah Doda at present Belicharana Jammu, Imran Ahmed Rather R/O Chinot Badherwah Doda at present Belicharana Jammu and Jamat Ali R/O Nikki Tawi Belicharana Jammu. All four of them were taken into custody and on their disclosure 150 No’s of mobile tower batteries valuing Rs. 18 lakh have been recovered so far. It is pertinent to mention that on 16th March these thieves attempted a theft in a telecom tower in Bishnah and Police recovered a vehicle left by thieves when they fled away after raided by Bishnah Police. After getting some technical and physical evidences and generating an input about the movement of the kingpin Bilal, Police arrested him at Miran Sahib. It is apt to mention that all the accused were previously employees of various mobile companies.
