DC Ramban finalizes plan for Jal Shakti Abhiyan implementation, World Water Day activities

RAMBAN, Mar 21: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, today chaired a meeting of District Officers to finalize the plan for the implementation of Jal Shakti Abhiyan and World Water Day activities here at a meeting.
The meeting was attended by Additional Development Commissioner, Ramban, Harbans Lal; Chief Planning Officer, Kasturi Lal; Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, Nazir Ahmad Jaral; DIO NIC, Naveen Ahlawat and other senior officers of the District Administration.
The meeting reviewed various schemes rolled out under Jal Jeevan Mission and the activities proposed for spreading mass awareness, besides progress achieved under JAL Jeevan Mission this year. The meeting also discussed the arrangements made for the 'Catch the Rain, Where it Falls When it Falls' campaign, which will continue nationwide starting from pre-monsoon till monsoon period, covering both urban and rural areas of all the blocks of Ramban district.
The measures to be taken by different stakeholder departments for preservation, conservation and replenishing/ restoration of water bodies were also highlighted. The present status of lakes, natural reservoirs, check dams wells, tube wells and hand pumps and steps required to improve their condition were discussed threadbare.
The DDC urged the officers to work in tandem and achieve the results enshrined under the JJM. He also highlighted the importance of World Water Day on March 22, which shall be launched by the Prime Minister. The live stream of the ceremony will be organised at Conference Hall at District Administrative Complex here. The World Water Day functions shall also be organized at all Blocks of District Ramban witnessing the participation of BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Pani Simitis and other prominent citizens.
