2nd J&K UT Karate Championship held at MA Stadium

JAMMU, Mar 22: 2nd Jammu & Kashmir UT Karate Championship 2021 organized by Amateur Karate Do Association of Jammu & Kashmir (AKAJK) in junior and senior categories held at New Karate Hall, M.A Stadium, Jammu on Monday.
Players are representing their respective districts viz Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua, Reasi, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Bandipora, Baramula, Kupwara, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Shopian and Samba participated in the tournament.
Ex-MLA Sat Sharma was the chief guest while Shihan Ambedkar Gupta General Secretary AKAJK , Dr Mridula Gupta, Nodal officer of Covid-19 Sampling teams, Amit Sangra (III Dan Black Belt), Inspector J&K Police were the guests of honour.
Tarun Sharma Vice President BJYM Jammu West, Press Media and Publicity Secretary AKAJK and Founder and President Nat Manch was special guest on the occasion.
The tournament was conducted under the technical supervision of Referee and judge of AKAJK.
The bouts were officiated by Anil Sharma, Rinku Sharma, Dr. Gulam Mustafa Mir, Pooja Sharma, Deepa Sharma, Sahil Singh Langeh, Tajamul Ahmed Khan, Sunil Kumar, Ajaz Ahmed Parra, Rajan Jamwal, MK Saini, Meenakshi Raina, Indu Thakur, Sahil Singh, Vansh Sambyal, Neeraj Manhas, Moin Hameed were also present on the occasion.
Gold medalists in different categories were Adnan Fayaz (Budgam), Vipul Sharma (Udhampur), Monika Rani (Rajouri), Dua Mukhtar (Budgam), Tanjeela Nazir (Budgam) Sudixit Mansotra (Kathua), Shakir (Baramula), Azmat Bibi (Rajouri), Pooja Sharma (Jammu), Sameena (Budgam), Nighat (Baramula), Vikram Singh (Jammu), Sourav Mehra (Jammu), Priya Sharma (Jammu) and Arush Puri (Jammu).
GDC Kishtwar organised seminar on generating self employment
Kishtwar March 22:Training and Placement Cell, Government Degree College Kishtwar under Manodarpan initiative organized one day National seminar cum workshop on “Avenues for generating self employment” in collaboration with SBI-Rural Self Employment Training Instituite (RSETI), Kishtwar on 22nd March 2021.
The program was conducted under the patronage of Prof. Anirudh Sharma, Principal GDC Kishtwar, who was the chief guest of the function and Mr. Nasir Ahmed Bhat, Lead District manager Kishtwar was the Guest of Honour for the event. The program begins with welcome address by Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Wani, who welcomed all the participants and deliberated upon the programme schedule of the event.
The inaugural address was delivered by Prof. Anirudh Sharma, Principal GDC Kishtwar. Prof. Sharma spoke on the importance of self employment various initiatives of Government and higher education department in this perspective. He said that department of Higher education Department is starting skill courses in colleges on a large scale and this will go in a long way in nurturing the talent of the youth in the right direction so that they become job creators and not job seekers.
Prof. Faisal Mushtaq, head department of Botany spoke on Mushroom cultivation as an avenue for self employment.
Dr. Madhu Bala, Head Department of Commerce deliberated on entrepreneurship and economic development. She stressed upon the participants to look for avenues like, tourism, transportation, services and others for self employment. Local entrepreneur Mss. Nidhi shared her success story with the participants.
Valedictory speech was delivered by Nasir Hussain Bhat, Guest of honour of the event. Local entrepreneurs/resource persons were felicitated with certificates and momentos. The programme culminated with vote of thanks by Prof. Sonika Sen.
