SRINAGAR, Mar 22: Due to the recent resurgence of Corona Virus cases the COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir has come down to 97.42 percent. The union territory reported 132 new cases of the virus in the past 24 hours following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 28,679.
Srinagar district reported 77 fresh cases including 16 travelers followed by Jammu district 25 cases, Baramulla and Pulwama districts six cases each, Budgam district four cases, Kulgam district three cases, Anantnag, Bandipora and Ganderbal districts two cases each and a case each in Kupwara, Shopian, Udhampur, Rajouri & Kathua districts. No case was reported from Doda, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi districts.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 132 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 28 from Jammu division and 104 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 28,679.
Moreover, 86 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 17 from Jammu division and 69 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 28,679 positive cases, 1,336 are active positive, 1, 25,362 have recovered and 1,981 have died; 732 in Jammu division and 1,249 in Kashmir division.
Out of 57, 73,118 test results available, 56, 44,439 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 14, 39,982 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 28,965 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1,336 in isolation and 1, 23,644 in home surveillance. Besides, 12, 84,056 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 28,117 positive cases, 694 active positive, 26,958 recovered, 465 deaths; Baramulla has 8,501 positive cases, 118 active positive, 8,205 recovered, 178 deaths; Budgam has 8,046 positive cases, 90 active positive, 7,836 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,933 positive cases, 37 active positive, 5,804 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5,736 positive cases, 19 active positive, 5,620 recovered, 97 deaths.
“Anantnag has 5,111 positive cases, 15 active positive, 5,002 recovered, 94 deaths; Bandipora has 4,736 positive cases, 14 active positive, 4,660 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,696 positive cases, 14 active positive, 4,635 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,762 positive cases, 18 active positive, 2,690 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,638 positive cases, 27 active positive, 2,571 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,546 positive cases, 231 active positive, 24,936 recovered, 379 deaths; Udhampur has 4,332 positive cases, 12 active positive, 4,263 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,884 positive cases, six active positive, 3,823 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,449 positive cases, nine active positive, 3,376 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,276 positive cases, five active positive, 3,218 recovered, 53 deaths.
“Samba has 2,846 positive cases, five active positive, 2,800 recovered, 41 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,739 positive cases, 2,717 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,535 positive cases, 12 active positive, 2,499 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,138 positive cases, two active positive, 2,115 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,658 positive cases, eight active positive, 1,634 recovered, 16 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 28,679 positive cases, 12,888 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
