KATHUA, Mar 22: To create awareness among masses regarding save the girl child campaign, Kathua District Centre of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), in collaboration with department of ICDS, organised a multilingual Mushiara cum Cultural Bonanza on the theme of "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" here at Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education.
Chairperson, of the College was chief guest on the occasion. The staff of the college and a large number of students attended the event. The programme started with traditional Saraswati Vandana by college students. During the Mushiara several poets presented their poetic work in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Dogri languages on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Prominent among the poets who recited their poetic work included Vijay Sharma, T R Sumbria, R S Katal, Renu Padha, Dharamveer, Ramesh Galoch, Sham Lal Khajuria , Madan Lal Toofaan and others. A scintillating cultural programme featuring Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi songs was also presented by the artists, which received repeated thunderous applause by the audience. Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson Anu Dogra thanked the Information Department for organizing Multilingual Mushiara and cultural programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and appealed to the department for organizing more such programmes. |
