DDC discusses measures for face lifting of Rajouri Township

RAJOURI, Mar 22: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Monday convened a meeting with the concerned officers to discuss with them the measures being taken under the district Administration’s initiative for face-lifting of the Rajouri town. Among the others the meeting was attended by ADC, Sher Singh; Additional SP; Liyaqat Chowdhury CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CAO, Mahesh Verma; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; GM DIC, Manzoor Hussain; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; DIO NIC, Muzaffar Mir; AD FCS&CA, besides the members of the NGOs.
The Deputy Commissioner said that keeping the surroundings neat and clean is the foremost duty of every citizen and the need of the hour was to work in tandem to make the district neat, clean, green and smart. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that the inner and the outer walls of all shops being operated in the district are painted white. He further directed to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in all the restaurants in the town with a functional toilet facility and valid license to operate.
The Chief Medical Officer was asked to vaccinate all the shopkeepers and the persons working in the shops to avoid the risk of the COVID19 infection. He instructed the concerned officer from the Food Safety Department to install hoardings at specific locations to spread awareness among the general public about the benefits of cleanliness and sanitation, healthy food habits and the harmful effects of unhygienic food on Health.
Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned officers from FCS&CA and Food Safety to conduct market checking on a routines basis to inspect the sanitary condition of the shops and strictly enforce the market rates. They were further asked to conduct surprise checking of the JK Police, Army and BSF installations to ensure that quality food is provided to the employees working in these departments.
