JK reports 172 new cases of Corona Virus; positive cases reach 129203

SRINAGAR, Mar 25: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 172 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 29,203. Eight districts of the union territory reported no fresh case of the virus in the past 24 hours.
Srinagar district reported 65 fresh cases including 25 travelers followed by Jammu district 34 cases, Baramulla district 30 cases, Budgam district 16 cases, Anantnag district eight cases, Pulwama district five cases, Bandipora and Kathua districts three cases each and Kupwara, Shopian, Doda & Samba districts two cases each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 172 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 41 from Jammu division and 131 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 29,203.
Moreover, 92 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 14 from Jammu division and 78 from Kashmir division.
Out of 1, 29,203 positive cases, 1,593 are active positive, 1, 25,627 have recovered and 1,983 have died; 732 in Jammu division and 1251 in Kashmir division.
Out of 58, 58,408 test results available, 57, 29,205 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 14, 60,865 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 29,624 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1,593 in isolation and 1, 25,879 in home surveillance. Besides, 13, 01,786 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 28,315 positive cases, 747 active positive, 27,101 recovered, 467 deaths; Baramulla has 8,583 positive cases, 175 active positive, 8,230 recovered, 178 deaths; Budgam has 8,092 positive cases, 116 active positive, 7,856 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,943 positive cases, 46 active positive, 5,805 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5,756 positive cases, 31 active positive, 5,628 recovered, 97 deaths.
“Anantnag has 5,125 positive cases, 15 active positive, 5,016 recovered, 94 deaths; Bandipora has 4,741 positive cases, 19 active positive, 4,660 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,698 positive cases, 13 active positive, 4,638 recovered, 47deaths; Kulgam has 2,765 positive cases, 19 active positive, 2,692 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,640 positive cases, 28 active positive, 2,572 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,654 positive cases, 305 active positive, 24,970 recovered, 379 deaths; Udhampur has 4,335 positive cases, 12 active positive, 4,266 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,888 positive cases, nine active positive, 3,824 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,452 positive cases, 12 active positive, 3,376 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,286 positive cases, 15 active positive, 3,218 recovered, 53 deaths.
“Samba has 2,852 positive cases, 11 active positive, 2,800 recovered, 41 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,740 positive cases, one active positive, 2,717 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,538 positive cases, 13 active positive, 2,501 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,140 positive cases, four active positive, 2,115 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,660 positive cases, two active positive, 1,642 recovered, 16 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 29,203 positive cases, 13,006 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
