| NIA exposé of PDP leadership eye opener: Kavinder | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 25: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Thursday expressed shock and ire over NIA’s disclosure on PDP youth leader and close aide of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Waheed ur Rahman Para for his involvement in secessionist activities.
In a statement issued here, the senior BJP functionary said that the reports related to PDP and its leadership are startling as the ploy exposed by the NIA is indicating a bigger role by the party in keeping the secessionist movement against the Union of India on the boil. He said that charges leveled against Para are of grave nature as he managed to give a huge amount of Rs 5 crore for the continuance of unrest after the killing of terrorist Burhan Wani.
Kavinder demanded that the government should probe each and every angle of the case to expose PDP and take the investigation to its logical conclusion. “Smuggling arms in official vehicles, trying to penetrate into vital institutions for giving shape to larger conspiracy is a dangerous ploy and demand meticulous investigation. This also proves the perils involve in the entire gamut as being in power the PDP was incharge of many vital installations and organizations”, he said adding that people should now understand the difference between nationalist and the ‘secessionist’ political parties.
Earlier in the day, Kavinder held Janta Darbar at Shanker Coloney Narwal and Bahu Fort areas to have firsthand knowledge of their problems and issues.
The prominent residents while interacting with the former Deputy Chief Minister apprised him about their burning problems including water, power, lanes and drains.
After giving a patient hearing, the senior BJP leader assured the people that he will take up the matter with the concerned quarters and soon all their problems will be mitigated. He said that rendering public service is the motto of BJP and he being a BJP member shall do everything possible for bailing out people from their problems and misery. |
