JAMMU, Apr 9: Career Counseling Cell of Government College for Women Udhampur today organized a guest lecture on “Career opportunities in Physical Education, Exercise Science & Sports”. Convener Career Counseling cell Dr Ashok Kumar in the introductory address emphasized the utmost importance of making students aware about different career options they can pursue.
Resource person at the occasion Dr Dinesh Kumar, Physical Director GCW Udhampur in his lecture said there are n numbers of career options in Physical Education, Exercise Science & Sports which can only be limited by one’s own imagination. He is of the view that the development of physical education in India is still in prenatal stage and a lot is needed and a lot have to be done. Career options in Physical Education, Exercise Science & Sports ranges from teaching, coaching and training in educational institutions to the endless avenues that can be generated in Non-school settings too. Dr Dinesh further stressed on various career options in sports, wellness and health industry such as in Wellness & Health Industry, Sports & Event Management, in Sports Journalism & Communication, Sports Engineering & Equipment Manufacturing, Opportunities as a player, Hundreds of Career Opportunities for a trained professional with a Sports team or an individual Player at different level of play, Careers in Sports Tourism & in Sports Law etc.
