Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 9: After Early Times carried a news item regarding denial of path for travelers to Dachhan village of Kishtwar by the Forest Department, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar directed Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Marwah to ensure that the department will provide proper path via forest area to the travelling people.
As per the details available with Early Times, ADDC Kishtwar vide letter No. ADDC/K/2021-22/114-17 Dated 8-4-2021 address to DFO Marwah initimated him about construction of road from Ikhala Block Bountto Lopara Road (Part 1 of Dachhan road) wherein SE PMGSY Circle Batote has reported that executing agency/ contractor is facing hindrance in construction of road due to frequent movement of public/ponies below the construction site from Kilometre 6th to Tender Nallah added that the issue was also discussed in the meeting held on 6-4-2021 under the chairmanship of Chairperson DDC Kishtwar regarding capex budget as well as XVth FC Plan.
"It was decided in the meeting that the bridal path for public/ponies above the road alignment shall be constructed/improved by the Divisional Forest Officer Forest Division Marwah in the existing ongoing schemes of forest department till the construction work of the instant road is completed," read the order- the copy of which is available with Early Times. ADDC Kishtwar directed the DFO Marwah to complete the said work within week's time with further directions to ensure that execution work of this prestigious road may not hamper any more.
Speaking to Early Times, DDC member Tahir Masood said that Dachhan-Marwah road is very important for people of the area since it will provide connectivity to unconnected areas of Marwah Sub-Division having population of around 45000 souls.
"We would like to see Dachhan road completed this year. We will not tolerate any lackadaisical approach on part of anyone. Anybody who tries to sabotage the ongoing road construction will be dealt with iron hands," said Tahir Masood, adding that they cannot held the population of around 45000 hostage for petty issues like non-clearance of Wild Life Department or Forest Department.
"Can you believe 45000 people of Marwah sub Division are without road even after 74 year of independence? This is a bitter reality which we want to change," said Masood.
