Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Apr 9: Frequent traffic jams on Dhar Road from Roun Domail to Gole Mela triggered by the heavy vehicles (particularly trucks) moving in convey towards Jammu from Srinagar puts the commuters to a lot of problems.
The local travelers claimed that the situation is there for the last over three years and they have to suffer due to this.
"Especially when one has to move a patient or a pregnant lady to hospital, it all remains at the mercy of God," a Govt employee on the condition of anonymity told this reporter adding that he many times noticed ambulances stuck in such jams on Dhar road.
Many employees working in govt as well as private organizations claimed that they remain stuck in traffic jams and reach their workplace late after which they face reprimand from their bosses.
Some people demanded that heavy vehicles (trucks) should be directed to use link road from Roun Domail to national highway so that no problem may arise for the local commuters.
They urged upon the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib to look into the matter and get the problem solved so that the local or other travelers who daily travel on this route may heave a sigh of relief.
