Weekend curfew in Leh from Friday evening

Jammu, Apr 29: Amid a surge in positive cases in Union Territory of Ladakh, District Magistrate Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse announced to impose weekend curfew in Leh from Friday evening. Only essential services would be allowed during restrictions.
Suse said that decision to impose weekend curfew has been taken after assessing the situation in Ladakh in general, and Leh in particular.
During the last 24 hours a total of 116 positive cases were reported in Ladakh. Out of these 111 cases were reported from Leh and five from Kargil. However, 137 patients were cured and discharge across the UT during the same period. 127 patients were discharged from Leh and ten Kargil. With this, the total number of COVID-19 active cases in UT Ladakh has come down to 1682, including 1585 in Leh district and 97 in Kargil district.
Compulsory institutional quarantine for all incoming passengers in Leh
To tackle increasing COVID cases in Leh, authorities decided that all local inbound passengers, including students and commoners, coming without the mandatory negative RT PCR reports are being institutionally quarantined till their negative results are declared.
The District Administration has made all the necessary and elaborate arrangements such as hiring of hotels/guest houses for the purpose of institutional quarantine, dedicated transport facility from the airport.
All passengers are being provided boarding and lodging with proper sanitation of rooms and results of tests are given in the shortest possible time so that they do not face any difficulty.
The administration is also providing quick medical attention in case of any emergency.
