661 bed capacity in Covid care centres across the district : DC Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, May 21: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib today said that the district administration has made available 661 covid beds at 8 covid care centres setup in different parts of the district.
She was briefing media persons on Covid management scenario in the District, here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
“Apart from this, around 291 D-type and 468 B-type Oxygen cylinders are available in the district, including 361 (both type) in District Hospital”, she added and said that the district administration has prepared a fresh road map to further increase the bed capacity in Covid Care Centres in the District.
The District Hospital and covid care centres also have sufficient number of ventilators, oxygen cylinders and high oxygen flow equipment, she added. Regarding Medicare services, the DC said that around 350 Covid kits have been distributed to positive patients in home isolation and more 2000 are available for further distribution. While referring the mopping exercise, she added that ULB members, Asha Workers, Anganwadi Workers have been engaged in the exercise of colleting appropriate information about potential cases and aware the people especially those symptomatic or others in home isolation. She said that about 1.10 lakh household- population has been touched in the District.
During this Health survey, 2182 suspected persons were also tested by the health department so far. The DC said that District Administration Udhampur would further upscale the exercise and start IEC activities at Panchayat level with the help of PRIs.
