Jammu, May 21: Natrang Jammu celebrated ‘World Culture Day -2021 by showing online it’s most popular mega Cultural Show ‘Rangla Jammu’ performed by over 150 top artists of Jammu and Kashmir, this unique cultural bouquet glorifies the rarest cultural diversity of Jammu region.
Sharing his views Natrang Director Balwant Thakur while greeting all, informed that World Culture Day was recognised by the General Assembly of United Nations in the year 2002.
Every year on May 21st, the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development urges everyone to do their part to bridge the gap between cultures. The day is often referred to as Diversity Day.
According to the UN, bridging this gap is essential for peace, development, and stability. Complimenting this vision, Natrang Jammu chose to showcase Rangla Jammu which befits appropriately the celebrations of this auspicious World Day.
‘Rangla Jammu’ is the unique cultural album of Jammu region showcasing the variegated variety of different colors, rhythms, costumes, designs patterns and artistic expressions.
This amazing bouquet of rarest performing art traditions beautifully unfolds the mesmerizing artistic traditions of this part of the world.
The production starts with the fusion of traditional musical instruments of the region and transports the audience into a dramatic journey of rarest singing traditions, rituals and festivities of Dogras.
Few among them like ‘Bawa Jitto’ ‘Data Ranpat’ and ‘Zorawar Singh’ and love legends like ‘Gilmu Bhagan’ and ‘Kunju Chancho’ still echoes all over. Jammu’s pluralistic culture and its diversity present a unique confluent picture assimilating so many sub-cultures with the artistic collaboration of over 100 performers, designers and technicians, an effort has been made to demonstrate the artistic strengths of this region and the programme culminates into the presentation of the unity in diversity of J&K, the harmony and the cultural co-existence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
