Jammu, May 21: Instilling hope amid the COVID-19 despair, Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) Jammu decided to extend helping hand to the coronavirus affected populace by volunteering to deliver free packed meals at the COVID-19 dedicated health facilities and doorsteps of patients advised for home quarantine.
The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of office bearers of CCI Jammu held under the stewardship of President Arun Gupta, here at Chamber House on Friday.
After threadbare discussions, the office bearers of the CCI Jammu endorsed the proposal of the President CCI Jammu to offer free meals to support the needy COVID-19 patients to bolster them surmount these difficult times.
Arun Gupta, while addressing the meeting, said that a mechanism has been devised to provide free meals to corona patients admitted in GMC Jammu and their attendants besides ensuring that those people who have been advised home isolation should also get the free meals at their doorsteps without any hassle or difficulty. He said however people who are in home isolation may kindly inform the CCI Jammu about their food requirements before 1 PM daily on the cell phone numbers 94191 82906 (Anil Gupta); 94191 86765 (Rajeev Gupta) and 94191 73183 (Rajesh Gupta)
The President of the apex body of Jammu’s businessmen also said that the Chamber has also arranged oxygen cylinders for the COVID affected and that in need can contact aforesaid phone number or the office bearers to get the same for providing relief to the Covid patients.
Gupta said that CCI Jammu is standing shoulder to shoulder with administration and the people of the Temple City at the time of crisis and in the coming days more of such initiatives will be taken by the Chamber to provide succor to the ailing population and those looking after them.
