COVID claims one more life in Kishtwar, wife lost battle three days after losing husband

Kishtwar, May 22: In a tragic series of miseries a woman lost her battle to COVID-19 three days after her husband fall prey to COVID-19.
As per the details available with Early Times, Pushpa Devi wife of Baldev Raj resident of Kungwari Kishtwar lost her battle to COVID 19 after losing her husband on 19-5-2021 while her son is also suffering due to COVID and is fighting for his life at District Hospital Kishtwar.
Official sources told Early Times that after showing positive sign towards recovering from the deadly disease, the woman all of sudden collapsed and died at the hospital today taking dead toll to 28 in the district since the outbreak of the disease.
Meanwhile, the district administration is facing daunting task to establish the COVID-19 center in Panchayat since all the Panchayats in Marwah Sub Division viz Marwah, Warwan & Dachhan are without electricity and communication and it took two days to reach the far flung Panchayat of Sukhnie in Warwan and Renie in Marwah.
The official sources said that they are looking for way out to address the issue by discussing it at highest level.
Meanwhile DC Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma said that the situation is gradually improving however people have to stick to Covid-19 SOPs for further improvement in the situation. With regard to availability of oxygen in the district, the DC informed that 361 filled cylinders are available in the district hospital and and the supply is being continuously monitored by the concerned.
Giving details on the positive cases in home isolation and their care, the DC said that the 499 medical kits containing essential medicines have been provided to patients at home isolation besides proper follow up of positive patients is a routine. The DC informed that at presently there are 388 active positive cases in the district whereas 604 patients have recovered so far.
