Jammu, May 29: NSS unit of Govt Degree College Ramnagar organized three days’ National Workshop on the topic “Holistic Health and COVID 19” through online medium under the patronship of Dr Udhey Bhanu, Principal GDC Ramnagar and guidance of Prof Ritika Mahajan, NSS Programme Officer. The purpose of the workshop was to create awareness among the masses regarding the need of vaccination, to bust the myths and fake news related COVID 19, to remove stress and negativities and the necessary SOP guidelines. On day one, the resource person was Dr Nidhi Gupta, Medical Officer Pathology, COVID Rapid Antigen Test Incharge, District Civil Hospital, Pathankot. During the session she elaborated the necessary precautions, first hand medical assistance and role of healthy food during this pandemic. She also insisted on the need of immunization and pre and post vaccine conditions to the participants. On Day two, the resource person, Dr Prayarana Sharma, Medical Officer AYUSH, demonstrated how Ayurveda can help to boost our immunity during this pandemic. She also elaborated the necessary ayurvedic herbs like tulsi, Giloy, Ashwaganda etc and their proper dosages. Dr Sharma also demonstrated the various breathing exercises and yoga Aasanas for healthy being. On last day, valedictory function on the theme “Music relives stress caused by COVID 19” was organized where the resource persons were Davinder Thakur, a well-known singer and director Nachda Duggar: The Fusion Band and Neetika Mallee, a singer and poetess. The resource persons introduced the students with Dogri Gazals, Hasya Kavita and folk songs. The students also participated and presented the Dogri geet and poems. More than 100 participants from the various colleges of the country joined the workshop and made it successful. The workshop was felicitated by Dr Sreeya G. Nair, NSS Programme Officer, Sri Ayappa College for Women, Chunkadkadai, Tamil Nadu. Prof Suresh Dogra, Senior faculty member, HOD Physics delivered the vote of thanks and Prof Divya Puri, HOD Psychology, Coordinator Psychology Cell, organized the entire workshop. |
