SRINAGAR, May 29: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 2,253 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 2, 86,684. Following 46 fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus reached 3,841. Srinagar district reported 353 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 343 cases, Kupwara district 203 cases, Anantnag district 184 cases, Budgam district 169 cases, Baramulla district 162 cases, Pulwama district 142 cases, Kulgam district 91 cases, Poonch district 70 cases, Bandipora district 69 cases, Ramban district 66 cases, Udhampur and Rajouri districts 60 cases each, Doda district 54 cases, Ganderbal district 52 cases, Kathua district 47 cases, Reasi district 39 cases, Shopian district 34 cases, Kishtwar district 32 cases and Samba district 23 cases. Jammu district reported 17 fresh deaths of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district four deaths, Rajouri, Samba, Baramulla, Pulwama districts and Bandipora three deaths each, Udhampur, Kathua and Kishtwar districts two deaths each and Doda, Budgam, Kupwara & Ganderbal districts one death each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 2,253 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 794 from Jammu division and 1,459 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 2, 86,684. Also 46 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 30 from Jammu division and 16 from Kashmir division. Moreover, 4,334 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1,898 from Jammu division and 2,436 from Kashmir division. Out of 2, 86,684 positive cases, 39,255 are active positive, 2, 43,588 have recovered and 3,841 have died; 1,868 in Jammu division and 1,973 in Kashmir division. Out of 84, 92,134 test results available, 82, 05,450 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 20, 76,265 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 79,588 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 39,255 in isolation and 1, 45,202 in home surveillance. Besides, 18, 08,379 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 64,560 positive cases, 5,057 active positive, 58,739 recovered, 764 deaths; Baramulla has 21,061 positive cases, 2,915 active positive, 17,888 recovered, 258 deaths; Budgam has 19,945 positive cases, 2681 active positive, 17088 recovered 176 deaths; Anantnag has 14,311 positive cases, 4,077 active positive, 10,073 recovered, 161 deaths; Pulwama has 12,839 positive cases, 2,261 active positive, 10,412 recovered, 166 deaths. “Kupwara has 11,779 positive cases, 1,959 active positive, 9,680 recovered, 140 deaths; Kulgam has 9,716 positive cases, 1,902 active positive, 7,718 recovered, 96 deaths; Ganderbal has 8,508 positive cases, 1,226 active positive, 7,214 recovered, 68 deaths; Bandipora has 8,335 positive cases, 984 active positive, 7,261 recovered, 90 deaths and Shopian has 5,251 positive cases, 1,185 active positive, 4,012 recovered, 54 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 50,058 positive cases, 5,894 active positive, 43,121 recovered, 1,043 deaths; Udhampur has 10,497 positive cases, 868 active positive, 9,509 recovered, 120 deaths; Rajouri has 9,546 positive cases, 2,056 active positive, 7,310 recovered, 180 deaths; Kathua has 8,710 positive cases, 672 active positive, 7,908 recovered, 130 deaths; Samba has 6,700 positive cases, 1,532 active positive, 5,058 recovered, 110 deaths. “Doda has 5,570 positive cases, 1,195 active positive, 4,287 recovered, 88 deaths; Reasi has 5,244 positive cases, 594 active positive, 4,614 recovered, 36 deaths; Poonch has 5,109 positive cases, 1,022 active positive, 4,009 recovered, 34 deaths; Ramban has 4,986 positive cases, 914 active positive, 4,023 recovered, 49 deaths and Kishtwar has 3,959 positive cases, 261 active positive, 3,664 recovered, 34 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 2, 86,684 positive cases, 21,509 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. ENDS |
