| Reasi Police arrests rape accused within hours | | |

REASI, June 26: Reasi Police has arrested a rape accused within hours of the occurrence of the crime. Police sources said that acting on the written complaint of Rakesh Kumar that his daughter of 10 years age (name withheld) was molested and raped by one Suneel Kumar, son of Gian Chand of Kandyar when she went to carry drinking water from a nearby source of water.
Rakesh Kumar in his complaint further stated that suddenly Suneel Kumar appeared on the spot and after finding the minor helpless girl alone at isolated place, he started molesting the girl and then raped her. On getting this application case FIR no 112/2021 U/S 376 IPC, 4 POSCO Act lodged in Police Station Katra.
A team of Police Post Kakriyal swung into action, reached on the spot, medical of the victim got conducted through board of doctors on the same day. Meanwhile team of police post Kakryal lost no time raided and arrested the accused within few hours of commission and reporting of crime.
Statement of the victim has been recorded under section 164 CrPC, before the Hon’ble Judicial Magistrate Reasi and further investigation of the case is going on. Sensing the gravity of the offence, SSP Reasi Shailender Singh has constituted a special team headed by a lady Sub Inspector Kusum Sulakhiya, incharge of Woman Cell of Police Station Reasi, with the directions to investigate the case on merits at the earliest.
