COVID-19: JK reports 342 new cases; 5 deaths, positive cases 314316, recovery rate 96.84%

SRINAGAR, June 26: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 96.84 percent as 864 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 342 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 14,316; death toll reached 4,296 following five fresh deaths.
Srinagar district reported 84 new cases followed by Pulwama district 29, Anantnag district 24, Budgam district 23, Reasi district 19, Kupwara and Ganderbal districts 18 each, Kulgam and Rajouri districts 15 each, Bandipora and Poonch districts 14 each, Kishtwar district 13, Ramban district 12, Jammu district 11, Doda and Kathua districts 10 each, Baramulla district nine, Udhampur district two and Shopian & Samba districts one case each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 342 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 107 from Jammu division and 235 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 14,316. Also, five COVID-19 deaths have been reported, four from Jammu division and one from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 864 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 375 from Jammu division and 489 from Kashmir division. One new confirmed case of mucormycosis has been reported today thus bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 29. Besides this, 81.36 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu & Kashmir.
Out of 3, 14,316 positive cases, 5,630 are active positive, 3, 04,390 have recovered and 4,296 have died; 2,096 in Jammu division and 2,200 in Kashmir division. Out of 97, 74,384 test results available, 94, 60,068 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 23, 83,500 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,766 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,630 in isolation and 2, 08,758 in home surveillance. Besides, 21, 44,050 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 69,690 positive cases, 1,042 active positive, 67,824 recovered, 824 deaths; Baramulla has 23,160 positive cases, 426 active positive, 22,456 recovered, 278 deaths; Budgam has 22,469 positive cases, 419 active positive, 21,847 recovered, 203 deaths; Anantnag has 15,981 positive cases, 337 active positive, 15,446 recovered, 198 deaths; Pulwama has 14,819 positive cases, 305 active positive, 14,326 recovered, 188 deaths.
“Kupwara has 13,711 positive cases, 374 active positive, 13,176 recovered, 161 deaths; Kulgam has 10,991 positive cases, 221 active positive, 10,656 recovered, 114 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,539 positive cases, 195 active positive, 9,268 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,246 positive cases, 187 active positive, 8,959 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,546 positive cases, 16 active positive, 5,472 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,338 positive cases, 661 active positive, 50,545 recovered, 1132 deaths; Udhampur has 11,128 positive cases, 92 active positive, 10,905 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,662 positive cases, 206 active positive, 10,237 recovered, 219 deaths; Kathua has 9,190 positive cases, 44 active positive, 8,997 recovered, 149deaths; Samba has 7,052 positive cases, 60 active positive, 6,874recovered, 118 deaths.
“Doda has 6,751 positive cases, 292 active positive, 6,347 recovered, 112 deaths; Poonch has 6,058 positive cases, 269 active positive, 5,701 recovered, 88 deaths; Ramban has 5,800 positive cases, 125 active positive, 5,612 recovered, 63 deaths; Reasi has 5,772 positive cases, 228 active positive, 5,502 recovered, 42 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,413 positive cases, 131 active positive, 4,240 recovered, 42 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 14,316 positive cases in J&K, 22,179 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
