6/26/2021 11:38:48 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 26: The Dogra Sahayata Kendra, Jammu has demanded that in view of the difficulties being faced in the registration process for vaccination of 18+ persons, due to poor internet connectivity in the far flung areas, special camps for their vaccination on the basis of Aadhar card may be organized in such remote areas. This issue was raised in a joint meeting of the Central Coordination Committee and district Units held on line today to take stock of the measures undertaken to fight the covid 19 in Jammu Division.
In a statement issued here today, Gulchain Singh Charak President Dogra Sadar Sabha and Chairman of Dogra Sahayata Kendra emphasized that there was no scope for complacency in view of the reports of detection of the delta plus variant in Jammu division and warnings by experts regarding high probability of a third wave.
He said that measures need to be taken on war footing to ensure timely vaccination of the entire population before the next wave strikes.
Charak also said that the reports from the sub units of the districts also revealed that the covid care centers opened in various panchayats especially, in the remote areas were not properly manned by trained staff and many of them had no arrangements for providing oxygen to patients. He urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, to direct the concerned administrative and health authorities to equip the covid care centers in all panchayats, especially in far flung areas, adequately with oxygen facilities and trained staff, well in time, to meet any eventuality, so that precious lives of the people in these areas can be saved.
During the meeting, heads of the units of Dogra Sahayata Kendra Ramban, Kathua, Arnia and Khour apprised the members about the latest status of covid pandemic in their respective areas. It was decided to call for a weekly report from the Units to review whether the facilities being provided and availed were adequate, so that bottlenecks if any are brought to the notice of the concerned, for proper resolution and all type of help required from the DSK.
