COVID-19: JK reports 364 new cases; 7 deaths, active positive 4600, recovery rate 97.17%

SRINAGAR, June 30: SRINAGAR, June 30: With 572 persons recovering from the virus in the past 24 hours the COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 97.17 percent. The total number of positive cases reached 3, 15,662 following 364 new cases; the death toll reached 4323 with seven fresh deaths.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 364 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 149 from Jammu division and 215 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 15,662. Also seven COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and four from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 572 more COVID-19 patients have been recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 186 from Jammu division and 376 from Kashmir division. Out of 3, 15,662 positive cases, 4,600 are active positive, 3, 06,739 have recovered and 4,323 have died; 2,105 in Jammu division and 2,218 in Kashmir division.
Out of 99, 60,678 test results available, 96, 45,016 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 24, 23,100 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 16,686 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,600 in isolation and 2, 21,976 in home surveillance. Besides, 21, 75,615 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 69,983 positive cases, 858 active positive, 68,297 recovered, 828 deaths; Baramulla has 23,244 positive cases, 269 active positive, 22,697 recovered, 278 deaths; Budgam has 22,556 positive cases, 255 active positive, 22,097 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,060 positive cases, 293 active positive, 15,565 recovered, 202 deaths; Pulwama has 14,861 positive cases, 194 active positive, 14,475 recovered, 192 deaths.
“Kupwara has 13,798 positive cases, 266 active positive, 13,367 recovered, 165 deaths; Kulgam has 11,043 positive cases, 168 active positive, 10,760 recovered, 115 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,588 positive cases, 190 active positive, 9,322 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,302 positive cases, 164 active positive, 9,038 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,554 positive cases, 15 active positive, 5,481 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,392 positive cases, 582 active positive, 50,677 recovered, 1133 deaths; Udhampur has 11,173 positive cases, 89 active positive, 10,953 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,707 positive cases, 159 active positive, 10,328 recovered, 220 deaths; Kathua has 9,205 positive cases, 39 active positive, 9,017 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,061 positive cases, 26 active positive, 6,916 recovered, 119 deaths.
“Doda has 6,830 positive cases, 240 active positive, 6,477 recovered, 113 deaths; Poonch has 6,092 positive cases, 227 active positive, 5,774 recovered, 91 deaths; Reasi has 5,910 positive cases, 334 active positive, 5,533 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,834 positive cases, 98 active positive, 5,672 recovered, 64 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,469 positive cases, 134 active positive, 4,293 recovered, 42 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 15,662 positive cases in J&K, 22,375 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory.
