Govt P G College Rajouri concludes one week national e-training on intellectual property rights

Rajouri July 1: The IQAC and Science Club of Govt PG College Rajouri in collaboration with CSIR-Institute of Minerals & Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar, Odisha concluded the One Week National e-Awareness Cum Training Program on Intellectual Property Rights (NeAT IPR -2021) held during 25-30 June, 2021 here on Wednesday.
Dr. D.S. Rao, Head-HRD, CSIR-IMMT was chief guest in the valedictory ceremony of this weeklong National Faculty Development Program (FDP) who briefed about CSIR-IMMT and emphasized upon more such training for greater awareness in society.
Prof. Shakeel Ahmed Raina, Principal of college, said that IPR is a must for every researcher and faculty member and appreciated the CSIR-IMMT for rendering cooperation to disseminate knowledge among participants especially from Jammu and Kashmir through this workshop.
In his message, Prof. Suddhasatwa Basu, Director, CSIR-IMMT, underlined the need of IPR awareness, various innovation and incubation schemes of CSIR, and encouraged the budding youth to participate in these scientific programmes.
He appreciated the collaborative initiative of Govt. PG College Rajouri on IPR and expressed hopes for more such programs for raising maximum awareness among masses especially academia in future. Dr. Ashok K. Sahu, Chief Scientist and CEO-InTEC, CSIR-IMMT also appreciated the e-training on this most important subject-IPR.
About 155 faculty members, scientists, scholars and students from various institutions across Jammu & Kashmir, Country and the World including England and Nigeria participated in this week-long workshop spread over 6 sessions of three hours each.
The experts drawn from industry and CSIR institutes for this FDP who covered various topics pertaining to IPR include Amit kumar Patel, MD, PATectual IP Services (An Overview of IPRs); Dr T Pavan Kumar, Senior Scientist, CSIR IMMT (Do it yourself - an exercise, The game is the claim - hands on training); Dr Parash Kumar Dave, Founder IP Moment(History and Evolution of IP System); Dr Kapil Arya, Senior Scientist, CSIR IPU(Importance of Copyright, Trademark and geographical indications); Adv Noopur Goel, HumaneIP (Introduction to patents and Patent drafting - examples); Dr Yogesh Dhoble, Sr. Principal Scientist, CSIR IPU (Essentials of Patent and design applications); Kavita Poddar, Senior IP Director, Questel India (Patent Searching – databases); Dr Lipika Patnaik, Principal Scientist, CSIR IPU (Patent filing process); Dr Satyajit Rath, Principal Scientist, CSIR IMMT (Research ideas to patents - practical examples) and Dr Phani Kiran, Manager - Ashland LLP (Summarizing IPR with examples).
Dr. Ashaq Malik, Security Science Club, PG College Rajouri and organizing Secretary of workshop and Dr. Pavan Kumar, Senior Scientist, CSIR- IMMT and convener of this training program conducted (moderated) the proceedings of workshop whereas Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Convener IQAC in College and also the other convener of this FDP presented the formal vote of thanks.
