| CBI catches PDD employee red handed while accepting & demanding bribe | | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Jammu, July 1: Team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an employee of Power Development Department (PDD) while accepting and demanding the bribe from the complainant.
As per the details available with Early Times, CBI received number of complaints against the PDD and even LG Jammu and Kashmir keep an eye on it and one such complaint, CBI Jammu led by Dy. SP rank officer conducted that raid at PDD Sub Division 3rd Gandhi Nagar Jammu wherein they apprehended one employee identified by the sources as Pawan Kumar while accepting and demanding bribe of Rs. 6000 from the complaint whose case of electricity connection was kept pending since December 2019 for want of bribe.
Accordingly CBI Registered case FIR No. RC7 of 2021 was registered U/S 7 of PC Act 1988 at Jammu.
After laying successful trap, the accused residence was also raided from where incremating documents were also seized.
The accused was later produce before Special Judge Anti Corruption Jammu who remanded him to 10 days Judicial custody. During questioning the accused revealed the name of senior officials of PDD who are allegedly hand in gloves with the accused with staff for collection of the bribe.
The sources said that despite being 4th class employee, accused Pawan Kumar has been given key assignment in the department added that same is also under investigation. |
