UDHAMPUR, July 1: Department of Commerce, Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur organized an essay writing competition on the topic "Digital marketing-A new way of marketing: scope and development ". Prof Minu Mahajan, Principal, GCW Udhampur was the chief guest and Prof Mamta Gupta, Head of Department (HoD) Commerce, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Jammu was the guest of honour on the occasion. Prof Mamta Gupta GCW Gandhi Nagar and Prof Binny Kumar, HoD Commerce, acted as judges. The purpose of the event was to provide insight and knowledge to the new trends, scope, and development in online marketing. Marketing over the internet has gained importance in recent times due to the increasing use of social media platforms. As many as 51 students participated in the event. Sangeeta Kumari of B.com semester 6th scored the first position and Sheetal Bandral of semester 4th and Rupali Charak of semester 1st scored second and third position respectively. Prof Binny Kumar and Rahil Gujjaral were the coordinators of the event.
