This is the second incident of targeted killing in Kulgam district during last 72 hours. Earlier terrorists shot dead a BJP Leader Brazloo Kulgam district on Tuesday evening.
Terrorists fired upon BJP in charge for Homshali Bugh constituency outside his home from point blank range resulting his instant death.
He was identified as Javid Ahmad Dar Son of Mohd Badullag dar resident of resident of Brazloo Jagir.
Las evening Kulgam Police apprehended a BJP activist in Qimoh area of district and recovered a pistol from his possession.
Police said a joint patrolling party of 1RR and Kulgam Police apprehended two suspicious persons who were coming on motorcycle bearing registration No. PB-H-1118 from Khudwani.
The riders, who were signaled to stop, brandished a pistol and tried to flee from the patrolling party. However, due to the quick and timely action of the security forces, both the individuals were apprehended. From their possession, one pistol, 02 magazines and 12 Rounds were recovered.
They have been identified as Aqib Shafi Badder S/O Mohammad Shafi R/O Badderpora Qaimoh (Sarpach) and Mohammad Amin Hajam S/O Gull Mohammad R/O Hangalgund Kokernag.

Meanwhile, former Chief Ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti condemned the killing and termed the targeting of political workers ‘worrisome’.
In a statement, Apni Party strongly condemns killing of its worker Ghulam Hassan Lone and said that such attacks are intended to stop the current ongoing peace process in J&K.
“These reprehensible acts of violence are going to yield nothing but they only add to the sufferings of the people. Nothing can justify the cold blooded innocent killing of a political worker who was just trying to resolve the pressing issues of the people of his area,” he said.
Bukhari said that his Party has always reiterated that violence in any of its manifestations and motivated by any of the extremist ideologies in the world only begets violence and yields nothing positive for a human civilization.
“This is a moment of utter grief and gloom for Apni Party wherein we have lost a valuable member to this insane cycle of violence. We pray for eternal peace to the deceased and endurance to the family to bear this huge and irreparable loss,” he said.
Furthermore, the Party’s senior leadership has also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
The Party leadership unanimously urged the J&K government to take a review of the security situation and implement all necessary measures to prevent such attacks on the political affiliates.
