BJP cautions high-command against ‘Babu-Raj’ in J&K
Warns prevailing rampant corruption, nepotism in administration would prove disastrous for party in coming elections

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 9: Within days after facing the anger of the people during a meeting of intellectuals at the border town of RS Pura, the leadership of the J&K unit of BJP has awakened from the deep slumber as some leaders have reported sounded the high-command against the style of functioning of some Babus of administration.
Highly placed sources said that these leaders have made it clear to the high command that the ongoing ‘Babu Raj’ in J&K is going to be proved disastrous for the party in the coming assembly elections.
Notable participants in the intellectuals’ meeting held at R S Pura last week minced no words in attacking BJP leaders for their failure to provide basic amenities to the people. Intellectuals regretted that people of Jammu province had voted wholeheartedly for BJP in the 2014 Parliamentary elections, 2014 Assembly polls, and 2019 Parliamentary elections but now during the present ‘Babu Raj’ people of Jammu are bearing maximum brunt.
One after other participants pointed towards prevailing rampant corruption in the administration and cautioned that there was a feeling among common people that BJP leaders were responsible for prevailing anarchy and chaos in the administration.
Sources said that after R S Pura's feedback, local BJP has started a damage control exercise but no one in the administration is listening to them.
“It appears that J&K administration is running from outside the Union Territory. Even for petty transfers and other works people have searched links outside J&K who are playing important role in the day-to-day activities in the administration”, a senior BJP leader told The Early Times.
Wishing anonymity, the said leader revealed that many issues have been brought to the notice of the high command especially sidelining of the local politicians.
