| Congress leader Shiv Dev welcomes Rahul Gandhi at Nagrota | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 9: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi received a warm welcome from Senior Congress leader and ex-MLA Shiv Dev Singh along with hundreds of Congress workers at Suketar in Nagrota constituency enroute to Katra. Gandhi stopped for a while and interacted with Congress workers who assured full support of the party cadre for strengthening the party at grassroots level.
Ex-MLA Shiv Dev Singh expressed thanks to Rahul Gandhi for interacting with party workers to boost their morale in Nagrota. Shiv Dev, while lambasting BJP for its failure to represent the sentiments of Jammu people and not fulfilling the promises made to the electorate during the 2014 Assembly elections, said people now forget the BJP and decided to bring back Congress party leadership in J&K UT as well as central levels.
Shiv Dev said there is a strong resentment among the people of Nagrota constituency against the BJP Government as it has not fulfilled its promises made at the time of Assembly elections. “The Narendra Modi-led BJP Government has failed to provide basic amenities to the people of Nagrota Constituency. The common masses have been facing problems like acute shortage of drinking water, dilapidated condition of roads, Government ration scarcity, lack of health care facilities and many more,” he said.
