| GDC Vijaypur organizes Push-up contest | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 18: GDC Vijaypur organized a Push-up contest with the aim to aware and motivate the youth about the benefits of doing Push-ups everyday for building upper body strength.
Students were sagrigated in two groups on the basis of their gender. In the mens category, Mohd. Razak of B.A Sem. 1st became the best sports man of the session and in the female category, Jyoti Devi of B.A Sem 3rd bagged the tag. The event was conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College. She apprised the students that push-ups are an effective workout that can target multiple muscle groups, providing many health benefits with few serious risks. Push-ups improve our health by building muscles, raising metabolism to burn fats and providing cardiovascular benefit. She further added that Push-ups is an excellent exercise to target our pectoral (Chest) muscles. It also works the triceps and front deltoids (Shoulders) beautifully. The event was co-ordinated by Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch (Convenor Sports Committee) and adjucated by Dr. Pinky Sharma (PTI). E-certificates were awarded to the winners of the contest. |
