Terrorists couldn’t dare to enter Srinagar during my tenure”: Satya Pal Malik chides J&K Govt
10/19/2021 12:23:00 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 18: Famous for speaking bluntly on important issues, Governor of Meghalaya, Satya Pal Malik, who serviced as last Governor of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, today launched a veiled attack on the incumbent regime in the Union Territory for allowing ‘free for all’ situation in the Valley. “During my tenure as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, no terrorists could even dare to enter within the 50 to 100 kilometers range of Srinagar city”, he recalled but regretted, “But now, terrorists are killing poor people in Srinagar. This is saddening”, Governor of Meghalaya Satya Pal Malik said in a video which has gone viral on social media. He further said that it was during his tenure as the menace of stone pelting was completely stopped in Kashmir Valley.
Malik has given this statement after witnessing deteriorating law and situation in the Valley where terrorists are ‘killing innocent people at wills”.
On grounds, there is no government because the system has totally been collapsed in J&K due to rampant corruption on one hand and uncontrolled killings of people by terrorists on other hand.
The common people have sandwiched between a group of selective Babus and Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. Babus snatc
Never misuse Information Department, always welcome healthy criticism
During his tenure as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik had never misuse Information Department to gag the voice of those who dared to speak the truth. Instead of hiding reality by hiring PR companies, Malik is the only Governor who asked media persons to highlight failures of his government so that the administration would rectify such mistakes.
He repeatedly asked media persons that health criticism, to highlight loopholes of his government, was always welcome.
During his tenure as Governor, many decisions were taken but he never tried to take services of PR companies on government exchequer to take credit for such decisions. Malik was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir from August 2018 to October 2019. During his tenure, the decision to abrogate Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and bifurcate the region into two Union Territories was taken in August 2019.
He has also served as Governor of Goa from November 2019 to August 18, 2020. Malik took oath as the Governor of Meghalaya on August 20, 2020.
ing livelihood of people to further the interests of the mafia, terrorists killing innocent people just to continue bloodbath and mayhem in the UT, especially in Valley.
Malik has reasons to claim that he controlled the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir because it was during his tenure historic decision of abrogating Articles 370 and 35-A were taken.
As an able administrator and approachable Governor, he never allowed any anti-social elements to execute their nefarious designs when these articles were abrogated.
Despite threats given by terrorists, separatists, and mainstream parties, Satya Pal Malik as an administrator took all preventive measures to frustrate the evil designs of such forces when Article 370 was abrogated.
The abrogation of Article 370 was the biggest political development in the history of Jammu and Kashmir but it was all due to his vision and commitment that the situation remained peaceful.
He was appointed as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on August 23, 2018, in place of N N Vohra. During his tenure as Governor of J&K from August 23, 2018, to October 31, 2019, when the erstwhile state of J&K was bifurcated into two Union Territories, Malik took many revolutionary decisions to reach out to the masses.
