PSAJK celebrates Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Day

Srinagar, Oct 18: Private Schools," Association Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) today organised a conference on the birth anniversary of great educationist, philosopher and one of the architects of modern India, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan at SKICC Srinagar.
Vice Chancellor Cluster University Srinagar, Prof Qayyum Hussain, Former Vice Chancellor IUST, Prof Mushtaq Ahmed Siddique, Senior Counsel Supreme Court Adv Zaffar Shah and Prof Hameed Naseem Rafiabadi were among the speakers on this occasion.
Prof Qayyum Hussain hailed the initiative of the PSAJK to celebrate the day of one of the greatest reformers of Muslims in the subcontinent. In his address he said, “while witnessing the performance of Kashmiri students in AMU we can say that school system in Kashmir is good.” While praising the role of PSAJK, Qayyum Hussain said that he was glad to see their commitment and dedication towards providing quality education to students.
He called on the PSAJK to establish good schools to improve the quality of education.
He said that Kashmir has the potential to become hub of knowledge and learning. In his welcome address, G N Var, President PSAJK said that Sir Syed Ahmad Khan has been relevant in all times and will be so for all times to come. Var said that this function is an initiative to celebrate Sir Syed Day by the private education sector in an organised way.
He said that this will be a routine affair of the private education sector in future so that we can create awareness among the masses about the message and mission of Late Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. Var said that lively nations have the honour that they remember and respect their assets.
Prof Hameed Naseem Rafiabadi, in his address highlighted the mission and the social activism of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
Prof Rafiabadi said that Sir Syed persuaded his community in achieving modern education so as to survive in the changing world.
Prof Mushtaq Ahmed Siddique in his address underlined the need of scientific knowledge and latest technology so as to be at par with the contemporary world. Prof Siddique termed Sir Syed Ahmed Khan as the best reformer in the education sector. He said that Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was a visionary of 19th century.
Advocate Zaffar Shah said that education is the basis of all developments and achievements and this was the message of late Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. Advocate Shah hailed the private schools for their contribution in education sector and said that private schools are Sir Syeds of modern era. Prof Qayyum Hussain in his address appreciated the PSAJK for conducting such an event in the commemoration of great educationist and reformer Late Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
The conference was attended by a good number of schools, academicians and veterans from all walks of life. Shahid Ahmad Dar, President Coaching Centres Association, Manzoor Wangnoo, Chairman MEERC, KWT and NLCO, Prof Muslim Jan, Chairman Tameel I Irshad Group, Nazim Nazir, Editor, Mir Fayaz Ahmed, District President EJAC, Ab Majid Bhat, District Coordinator PSAJK, G. N. Shakir, Secretary PSAJK, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat and Showkat Ahmad were among the notable persons present on the occasion.
