| GDC Sidhra organizes door to door cleanliness drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 7: ECO Club and NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra jointly organized a week long door to door Cleanliness Awareness campaign implementing Clean India Program, under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. The awareness campaign was carried out from 2nd of December 2021 to 7th December 2021 in village Bain Bajalta adopted by the college. About 65 NSS volunteers participated in this campaign spreading awareness related to solid waste management, its proper disposal, management of single use plastic and various other issues related to Cleanliness. The volunteers motivated the local community people to take part in the cleanliness drives organized under Clean India Program. The main motive behind this campaign was to spread awareness related to cleanliness and rejuvenation of rivers and water bodies that cannot be achieved without the participation of the residents of the village adopted. A total of 60 households were covered under the campaign.
The campaign was organized by NSS Program Officer, Dr Mehmood Ahmed and Dr Anshu Gupta, Convener of ECO Club of the college. |
