DC Jammu reviews performance of Banks, implementation of self employment schemes

JAMMU, Dec 24: Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg today reviewed the performance of Banks in deposits, advances, CD Ratio, and achievement under Annual Credit Plan for for Quarter ending September 2021, besides the implementation of self-employment schemes here at District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner took an extensive review of Government Sponsored Schemes with Special focus on KCC, PM SVANidhi, PMAY, PMEGP, JKREGP, NRLM, NULM, etc.
He also reviewed the progress under various Govt. Sponsored and Social Security Schemes.
Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over low CD Ratio of in the District with 31.52% despite highest advance portfolio of Rs 16,240.50 crore.
The LDM informed that Banks operating in Jammu District have recorded Deposits of Rs.51,518 Cr. and Advances of Rs.16,240 Cr. The achievement of Banks in the District under Annual Credit Plan 2021-22 stood at Rs.3451.87 Cr. against Annual Target of Rs.10080.60 Cr. recording growth of 34.24% till September ending.
It was informed in the meeting that under the Priority Sector the Achievement by Banks stood at Rs.1517.96 Cr. against Annual Target of Rs.6938.45 Cr. recording growth of 21.88%, while under Non-priority Sector the achievement was Rs.1933.91 Cr. against Annual Target of Rs.3142.15 Cr. recording a growth of 61.55%..
On the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan front, Banks have sanctioned 3756 cases under PM-SVANidhi scheme out of which 3452 cases stand disbursed, which was appreciated by the Deputy Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner asked all Sponsoring Agencies and Banks to spread awareness among people about various Self-employment Schemes launched by the Government and motivate them to avail the benefits of the same for generating self-employment opportunities in the District.
He also asked all the line departments to increase their sponsorship of loan cases and at the same time directed all the Banks to clear the pending cases sponsored by different Govt. Departments/Agencies at the earliest and give a boost to lending, particularly under Agriculture & Allied activities, MSME, Housing and Education Sectors, to achieve a healthy CD ratio.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Banks to cover all eligible persons under Social Security Schemes viz; PMSBY, PMJJBY & APY.
The Deputy Commissioner also launched the PLP of the District for FY 2022-23 prepared by NABARD.
The meeting was also attended by ADDC Jammu Ramesh Chander, ADC Adm Satish Sharma, Lead District Manager (LDM) Jammu Ramesh Raina, DDM NABARD Sanjeev Sharma, LDO FIDD RBI Rohit Kashyap, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, AD Fisheries, District Coordinators of J&K Bank, SBI, PNB, JKGB along with representatives of other Banks and concerned Departments.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress regarding removal of encroachment and prevention of illegal mining from the bed of river Tawi.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to remove the encroachments alongside Tawi River and illegal mining.
He asked the concerned officers to take strict action against the violators and book them under proper sections of Law.
