J&K Govt needs to take cue from HP, take similar initiative
Bureaucrats asked to teach in schools once in 15 days

‘Babus in UT arrogant, they don’t meet employees, teaching students impossible’
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 24: The Himachal Pradesh Government has asked the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) to teach in schools once in two weeks. It’s a welcome step as it would help the children to get inspired to do something big in their lives.
The Jammu and Kashmir Government should take a cue from the Himachal Government and take a similar step so that children of J&K draw inspiration from them. And it can also help in improving the education standards across the Union Territory. BJP governs both Himachal Pradesh and J&K also. If it can direct the bureaucrats posted in one place to teach the students it can do the same at other place too.
An observer while talking to Early Times said, “It looks difficult that J&K administration will take any such step as bureaucrats posted in the Union Territory are arrogant. They don’t even like meeting ordinary people. Some IAS officers do not even come to their office, and prefer to stay in Raj Bhavan as they are not accountable to anyone.”
Referring to the recent strike of the PDD employees, the observer said, “Representatives of about 20,000 employees wanted to meet a senior PDD officer but he refused to meet them as he may have thought that meeting the junior employees may lower his stature.” He said, “The attitude of the senior officers has disappointed the people. Expecting such officers to go to schools and teach the children is asking for too much.” If the senior bureaucrats decide to go to schools and teach the students it would help the youngsters to decide their careers and it would also help build parents’ trust in government schools. Besides, administrative officers will also get to know if there is any deficiency in the school infrastructure.
