HIRANAGAR, Dec 24: Department of Education, Political Science and Sociology, Govt GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar celebrated National Consumer Day today on the theme “Know Your Consumer Rights” in collaboration with NCC unit and IQAC under the Aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotasav. On this occasion a Road Show was flagged off by the principal of the College Prof. Suresh Kumar Sharma
The Road Show started from the college and culminated back to the college travelling via main Chowk Hiranagar. Students of NCC and Departments mentioned above displayed placards on the various consumer rights viz. right to information, right of consumer education, right to be heard, right to be protected against marketing of hazardous goods, right to be assured, right to seek redressal against unfair trade practices.
Dr. Davinder Kour HOD Education, Prof. Ritika HOD Political Science, Dr. Arun Kumar HOD Sociology and Dr. Sukhdeep Singh Sasan, ANO emphasized the importance of knowledge regarding consumer rights in day to day life of the individual. Prof. Suresh Kumar Sharma, Principal of the College appreciated the efforts of faculty members and students in organizing such events of Public importance. Prof. Sujat Khan, Coordinator IQAC also briefed the importance of Consumer Rights and appreciated the organisers of the event. This programme has been organized in collaboration with Legal Meteorological Department JK (UT) Jammu. |
