1/4/2022 10:17:33 PM
Early Times Report
KATHUA, Jan 4: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh has expressed concern over poor pace of developmental activities in Kathua District where rural belt is among worst suffers.
After inaugurating the District Office of Apni Party in Kathua, a joining programme was organized by District President Kathua and Ex-MLA Prem Lal Ji.
In this programme, many women including Pinkey Sharma, Doli Sharma, Anta Devi, Sunita Devi, Rekha Sharma, Mukesh Bawa, Ram Mohan, Ajay Sharma, Deep Kumar among others joined the Party in presence of senior leaders.
Welcoming them into the Party, he said that the developmental activities have almost come to stand still in Kathua and elected Panchayat members are facing difficulty due to the arrogant and bureaucratic attitude which is acting as stumbling blocks.
He said that the district has remote areas and the rural population is deprived of development and basic amenities. The development is hampered as there is no elected Govt to question the inefficiency of the officials.
"The field departments are not able to deliver and the people are put to unnecessary harassment for one reason or another. The Rural Development Department is not releasing the material payment across J&K despite execution of work on the ground. The demand of the public and their issues are not being addressed by the Govt officials to push their own self centric attitude," he said. He said that the Jal Shakti Department, PDD, and other line departments who are directly connected with the people have not been able to redress their issues.
"The unscheduled power cuts have caused difficulty for the people and it has also hampered the water supply system," he said. He said that the developmental projects started by the previous Govts have not been completed and the Back to Village Programmes failed to yield any result even as the small developmental works could not be completed in many of the cases.
He said that the underdevelopment and feeling of alienation among the people can be addressed only by the elected Govt in J&K. Therefore, the Govt must hold assembly elections in J&K and restore the statehood before polls.
