Early Times Report

SUCHETGARH, Jan 4: Condemning the lapse of funds under Capex Budget, Taranjit Singh Tony DDC Member Suchetgarh on Tuesday termed the RDD Suchetgarh Block as den of corruption for an engineering wing.
In a statement issued to media persons, the DDC member said that the rampant corruption in the aforesaid department is behind this lacunae which has affected the common masses so much so that they will have to wait for another year to see the completion of development works that too if the concerned quarters in the RDD and LG’s administration will mend their ways. He said that RDD has become a liability as no one in the department is accountable and there is complete lack of transparency.
Tony said that it is startling that the LG’s administration is boosting of corruption-free governance but under its very nose the corruption is breeding as never before. He said that the government seems to have exhausted its money pool and that is the reason such problems are being created thus stalling the works of PRIs which ultimately dent the interests of the common man. He said that if LG’s administration will not take curative steps there is likelihood that sooner than later the PRI system will collapse thus bringing development to level zero.
The DDC member said that all the DDC Members on behalf of Panchs, Sarpanchs and BDC Chairpersons have unanimously moved a resolution in presence of Deputy Commissioner Jammu to ward off such conditions which are resulting into the lapse of Capex Budget and extend it to 31st March instead of 31st December. He said that the onus of this precarious situation wholly lies on the shoulders of the LG’s administration because the same administration has drawn such arbitrary rules which are not in the interest of anybody in the UT of J&K.
Tony said that the fate of PMAY Scheme which has been completely failed in the UT is the testimony to the fact that central dispensation is good at oratory but on ground the big schemes announced by the top leadership are confronting problems, fund dearth and hundreds of other bottlenecks thus exposing the deviousness of those sitting at helm. He said that the population under below poverty line is suffering because PMAY has proved out to be a complete failure thus exposing hollowness and uselessness of Modi Govt and its big slogans.
The DDC member appealed to the Lt Governor and Commissioner Secretary that kindly overhaul by transferring each person including engineering and VLW/ Gram Sewak from each Block to other blocks to break the nexus of deep corruption in the RDD Department, who have been serving since long. He said that RDD Suchetgarh is on top as far as rampant corruption is concerned therefore it is need of the time to bring about required changes to tighten noose around the delinquent and rein in the corrupt elements.
