MC Ramban discusses measures to upgrade civic services

RAMBAN, Jan 7: A special meeting of the Municipal Council, Ramban was held today at Municipal Council Office to discuss the modalities for formulating a plan to meet shortage of manpower and other required infrastructure for extending the quality civic services to people of the township.
Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, President MC Ramban, Sunita Sumbria, MC, Councilors, CEO, MC Ramban, Vishwjeet and several other concerned attended the meeting.
A threadbare discussion was held on various issues like shortage of manpower especially Safai Karamcharies (Civic Workers) and it was informed that only 14 sweepers are working in Ramban town.
The DC reviewed the status of revenue collection, allocation of funds and its utilization. He suggested various measures for enhancing revenue collection besides ensuring infrastructural development in Ramban town.
The DC directed the Executive Officer, MC to formulate a realistic data base of households, business establishments and the infrastructures existing in Ramban town to digitize the same for making a comprehensive Civic development plan.
The DC also advised Council to focus on beautification of the town besides developing it in a modern as well as scientific way.
The CEO was asked to coordinate with the concerned department for establishing a sewerage treatment plant in the township which has already been taken up with the Government by the District Administration under District Environment Plan.
Later, the DC also interacted with the Safai Karmchari and other staff of MC Ramban.
Responding to the issues highlighted by the MC's staff, the DC asked the Council to find out resources for fulfilling their genuine demands.
The President MC Ramban thanked the DC Ramban for attending the meeting and giving valuable suggestions which would help in sustainable development of Ramban town.
She also assured the DC to implement restrictions on use of polythene and single use plastic with the help of Beopar Mandal in Ramban town.
