On Mufti’s death anniversary Mehbooba exhorts Dogras to save land, jobs
1/7/2022 11:14:52 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 7: Realizing that a wave of strong anger is brewing among residents of the Jammu region against the present ‘inept and anti-people bureaucratic government’, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president on Friday exhorted Dogras to wake up to save their future generations.
“It is high time for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir be it Kashmiri, Dogra, Pahari, Gujjar or Bakerwal to join hands to protect the J&K”, Mehbooba said after paying tributes to the founder of PDP and former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on this 6th death anniversary. In an obvious reference towards recent decisions of the J&K government to allow outsiders to purchase land, Mehbooba said that the present regime is hell-bent to make the local youth jobless.
Pointing towards the recently held first-ever real-estate event in Jammu, Mehbooba said that it was a dangerous game plan to snatch land from the people of Jammu. “This regime will make people landless and jobless”, she cautioned and exhorted people to oppose such policies of the present dispensation.
“From here I appeal to the people of J&K to jointly fight against anti-people policies of the present regime”, She called the people.
During her recent visits to Jammu province, Mehbooba Mufti has realized that people of this part of J&K are annoyed with the present regime due to the style of functioning of some bureaucrats who have taken Jammuities for granted.
On the occasion of the 6th death anniversary of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Mehbooba Mufti gave a clarion call to the people of Jammu to support her to save the job and land rights of the residents of J&K.
Earlier during her visit to Jammu, Mehbooba Mufti visited different areas of R S Pura and interacted with people from different sections of the society in border areas.
By visiting different areas of R S Pura, Mehbooba Mufti had given a message to the inhabitants of this belt which always supported the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at every crucial moment.
Mufti Sayeed had an emotional attachment with R S Pura and people of this border belt too have high regard and respect for Mufti to whom they always treated more than a “Messiah”.
Mufti was the only politician of J&K since 1947, who despite being a Kashmiri, had won election from the Jammu region thus bulldozing the wall of the regional divide in the State. This belt had voted overwhelmingly in support of Mufti which ensured his victory as MLA from this seat.
